Independence
apicars.auction is an independent software service operated by its owner. apicars.auction is not affiliated with, endorsed by, sponsored by, or otherwise officially connected to Copart, Inc. or IAA, Inc. (operator of IAAI), or any of their subsidiaries or affiliates. Any references to those companies on this website, in our documentation, or in API responses are made solely to identify the public auction platforms whose listings we index.
Trademarks
The following names, logos, and stylings are trademarks of their respective owners and are used on this website strictly for the descriptive purpose of identifying the underlying data source (sometimes called nominative fair use):
- Copart® is a registered trademark of Copart, Inc.
- IAAI® and Insurance Auto Auctions® are registered trademarks of IAA, Inc.
- Carfax®, AutoCheck®, and other vehicle-history brands are trademarks of their respective owners and are not used as comparators on this website.
"apicars.auction" and the apicars.auction word mark are owned by us. We don't display, reproduce, or modify any of the third-party logos listed above on this site.
Where the data comes from
Each of the auction platforms named above publishes lot listings — make/model/year, photos, odometer, sale results, etc. — openly so that potential buyers can discover inventory before an auction. apicars.auction periodically retrieves those publicly listed records, normalises them into a consistent JSON schema, and exposes them through a developer-friendly REST API. We:
- only index data that is publicly visible without authentication on the source site;
- do not access, redistribute, or expose member-only fields, bidder identities, internal pricing formulas, or any data behind login walls;
- do not host or redistribute third-party copyrighted images outside of the customer's own responses (photo URLs are passed through, not re-hosted);
- respect
robots.txtsignals and rate-limit our indexing politely.
Customer use
Customers using our API are responsible for using the data in compliance with applicable law and with any terms-of-use of the original source platforms that apply to them. We provide the data as a structured technical service; we do not grant permission to use third-party trademarks, brand assets, or to imply any partnership.
Notice & takedown
If you are a rights-holder (Copart, IAAI, a vehicle owner, or any other party) and you believe a specific record on our service should be removed, corrected, or restricted, please email [email protected] with:
- your identity and authority to act on the rights at issue;
- the specific URL, lot number, or VIN involved;
- the basis for the request (trademark, copyright, privacy, factual error, etc.);
- your preferred remedy (removal, correction, opt-out).
We commit to a substantive response within 5 business days and to expedited handling of
any request from an auction-platform operator. We also maintain a permanent
opt-out
registry for VINs whose owners have asked us not to index them.
No warranty on third-party data
Auction listings are provided "as indexed" from the source platforms. We make a best effort to keep records fresh and accurate, but we are not the system of record. For any decision that materially depends on a specific record (e.g. a purchase decision), customers should verify against the original source. The full Terms of Service govern.
